When More People Than You Planned for RSVP to Your Wedding

This isn’t the worst wedding nightmare (tripping down the aisle, fainting at the altar), but it is still a nightmare nonetheless. When you send out your RSVPs, you can usually expect that 15% of people will respond as unable to attend. But what if everyone can make it? Or only a few people can’t? Is your budget suddenly in the tank? Are you worried about venue capacity? There are a lot of questions when detailed plans go awry. With a little pre-preparation (is that even a thing? We hope so!) you can be safe from this wedding planning nightmare.

Putting in safeguards is key to making sure this won’t happen, and that if it does it won’t derail your day. The most important? Planning a fool-proof guest list. We’d suggest an A-list and B-list.

You A-list is filled with people who have to be at your wedding, and the most people you can comfortably entertain at your venue and with your budget. If you invite far too many people, then you can only guess that too many people would RSVP ‘yes’ as well. If you are intentional about your invitations and invite right at what you can handle with your budget and venue, then, even if everyone RSVPs ‘yes,’ your plans won’t be shot!

Next, create your B-list. These are people that you want there but you aren’t 100% sure everyone will show up. Once you see how people are RSVP-ing with your A-list, you can start sending invites out from your B-list to fill those spots. Those on the B-list who cannot be invited due to venue or budget constraints can join in virtually if you live stream your wedding with us!

Another option? Inviting your A-list and having the B-list as strictly virtual. Then you absolutely know you’ll be at, or under, the number necessary for your physical ceremony and reception but can still have plenty of others join in on the fun!

LoveStream as a live stream component can help ease your budget concerns, venue restrictions and more. As a budget-friendly live stream wedding option, you have unlimited invites, up to 5 camera angles, and hours of stream time to share as much or as little of your big day as you want!
