How to Save Money on Your Wedding Invitations

If you’re anything like, well, anyone, you probably started wedding planning and quickly realized how expensive things can get. While having a wedding is a financial undertaking, there are ways to cut costs, save money, and spend less, and invitations are a great place to start! 

Invitations can cost a lot quickly if you aren’t cognizant of it. With a plethora of add-ons to choose from they can quite literally go from 0-100. Our team at LoveStream has compiled our best tips to help you stay smart and save money on your invites!

1.     Go Virtual! Virtual wedding invitations are easy, fast and affordable. If you’re in a pinch, e-vites are the best way to go.  You have almost all of the same customization options at a quarter of the cost of physical invites. And for our eco-friendly friends, you’re also saving lots of trees! 2.     Digital Flat Lay is a Great Way! This is the cheapest and least time-consuming method of printing wedding invites. You can still use fun colors and exciting designs but at a better price point. To save even more, stick with a simple, minimal design and less colors (because most people charge by the color).  

3.     Skip the Intricacies! We know, we know, the hot foil stamped, embossed, hand-painted acrylic invitations are BEAUTIFUL. But they’re time-intensive and expensive, leaving you out a lot of dollars. If you want to be smart, skip these options. 

4.     DIY! No, we don’t mean you have to make your invites yourself (although some of you might enjoy that!). Biggest way to save money by DIY-ing? Addressing and sending your own invites. Many vendors will offer you the option to pay to have this done, but it’s per invite. If you’re looking to save (and not spend your whole Saturday addressing invites), do 15 a night while you’re sitting on the couch watching TV. They’ll be done in no time and you multi-tasked like a pro.
