Tips for Creating Online Wedding Invitations

If you’re budget savvy and looking to save in all areas of wedding planning, creating your own virtual wedding invitations is an awesome way to do so! Not to mention, it gives you the opportunity to really own the process and design something truly unique to you. There are a few things you need to remember (unless you’re already a designer, then you’ve probably got it covered)!

1.     Readabilty. It’s important that you pick fonts that are beautiful, but readable. If your guests can’t see your date, things are going to be very difficult. Make sure when choosing fonts for your wedding evites that you’re critical of what style you’re using for the most important parts of the invite. Here are a few fonts that are guaranteed readable! Don’t let this totally persuade you from choosing a beautiful, cursive font – most traditional invitations use them anyways! But be wary of what you’re using and how you’re using it.

2.     Style. Platforms like Canva have a number of templates with gorgeous designs. However, if your wedding is a classic boho theme and you go with a modern and edgy invitation, it won’t really match. Sticking to your style and the theme of your wedding is important when designing invitations. If not, you’ll get caught up in a billion different designs and unable to choose! Make it simple and stick with what you know!

3.     Sending. An important aspect to think about is how you will send your virtual wedding invitations. By opting for an online, paperless option, you won’t be sending your wedding invitations by mail (unless you also choose to print them!). However, they will still need to get in front of your guest list! Consider if you will email them yourself, send it out in a group text or choose a professional sending service (like us).
