Should You Choose an All-Inclusive Wedding Package?

More often than not, newly engaged couples have more questions than answers when wedding planning. What is an escort card and why do we need it? Renting chargers for the tables doesn’t mean phone chargers?!

While the questions can be overwhelming, there are ways to simplify the process and choosing an all-inclusive wedding package is one option.

You might find that some of the wedding venues you look at offer all-inclusive wedding packages, but what does an all-inclusive wedding package look like?

Normally, you’ll find that an all-inclusive wedding package includes:

-       Ceremony and reception space

-       Food and drink (alcohol may or may not be covered)

-       Rentals (think chairs and tables, linens, some décor)

For most all-inclusive packages, this is the framework but the question remains: should you do an all-inclusive wedding package? Let’s find out!

If you are:

-       Having a destination wedding

-       Too busy to get into the nitty-gritty of planning

-       More of a “hands-off” wedding couple

-       Not too picky about the details

Then an all-inclusive package might be for you! These deals have more limited options, meaning fewer decisions to stress over. If you’re an engaged couple that can’t be bothered by the million choices and just want someone to tell you what china pattern you’re getting, or you aren’t into the design aspect of planning, choose all-inclusive for your wedding. It will greatly simplify your already busy life and remove quite a bit of the wedding planning stress! And if you’re planning a destination wedding, especially if it’s in another country, you don’t want to struggle with finding vendors a world away.

Now, if you:

-       Love the little things

-       Enjoy design and need options

-       Have a very small or very large budget

An all-inclusive package probably isn’t for you. If you’re Type-A and can’t wait to customize everything to be oh-so perfectly you, an all-inclusive package might not give you that option.

Additionally, if your budget is very small or very large, all-inclusive might not be your best option. While these wedding packages are often touted as a cost-efficient or money-saving option, most are catered towards a middle-range budget. If you’re pinching pennies during planning, all-inclusive options might be too expensive because they include things you might not need or want.

On the flip side, with a large budget you might want to jazz up what your vendors bring to the table and look for more specialty options. Remember, an all-inclusive option doesn’t always mean you can’t have other vendors, but if you’re paying for dessert and also hiring a bakery to create something special, you might be double-paying for tasty treats. Also, check your contract, because you might not be able to bring in any outside vendors.

All-inclusive packages can be great options, so don’t avoid them entirely! As always, talk to your venue and really understand what it includes, so you can decide whether the price and options equate to a good value.

And if your package doesn’t include live streaming your wedding, you know who to choose.
