Vendors: How to Add in a Virtual Wedding
Hey wedding vendors, this one’s for you! We know this is a weird time and you are probably getting a few of those “can you possibly save this date for us just in case we decide to switch dates” phone calls from your couples. Well, instead of blocking off yet another date in your calendar, it’s time to help your couple go virtual so they don’t have to reschedule. Why should love have to wait?
Not sure what adding in a virtual wedding looks like for you on your clients’ wedding day? Let us explain.

Photographers/Videographers
Honestly, not much changes for photographers and videographers on wedding day, if anything the day is a little quieter. Depending on if there are any physical guests, there might not be a need for any family pictures, or at least not a long laundry list of family pictures. But a couple having a virtual wedding will probably still want all the same usual pictures and footage like getting dressed and ready, the ceremony, newlywed shots and any first dance or cake cutting pictures and footage if they are incorporating those moments. Depending on the couples’ live streaming provider, as a wedding videographer you may want to coordinate regarding equipment.
Wedding Cake Baker
If a couple is still planning to get married, then let there be cake! Now, that might not be the same three or four-tiered wedding cake they originally planned for, but encourage the couple to still order a cake, so they can enjoy something sweet to celebrate with that day.
Catering
Depending on if a couple’s virtual wedding has any physical guests, it could greatly alter their catering needs. However, at the very least the couples still got to eat! Work with the couple to either downsize their wedding catering needs to match their new headcount or plan a very special meal for the two of them. Maybe they even want to consider having grab and go meals for all of their virtual wedding guests as a unique alternative to still get to enjoy their first meal with everyone!
Planner
As a planner, you are still there to help the couple with the logistics and timeline of the day. Regardless of if they have physical guests or everything is virtual, the couple hired you to keep the day stress-free and move things along. So, keep on doing you and be there to move the couple through the big moments of the day, even if it’s just the two of them.
Entertainment
With a virtual wedding, there are still big moments that happen, and those big moments still need the perfect soundtrack. Help the couple curate their playlist and soundtrack for the day. Find out who their streaming provider is and work with them on how to ensure the sound is going to be quality for the guests.
