Live Stream Wedding Invitation Ideas

Working on your wedding invites? You’re in good company! Wedding invitations are surprisingly complicated, and including a live stream element in your wedding can add requirements to your wedding invitations. Most of us are not accustomed to the formality that is still expected when sending wedding invitations via snail mail.

Choosing your wedding invitations can define your wedding style. It’s the first piece of the puzzle that your guests will see when it comes to your entire wedding vision. So, where do you start, how do you make your wedding invitations reflect your personality and how do you pick a style?

Getting Started with Wedding Invitations

You’re engaged, you chose your date and venue, and now it’s time to think about invitations.

The purpose of a wedding invitation is to give your guests key pieces of information that they need to know. This goes for both traditional and live stream wedding invitations. At minimum, your invitations should include:

  • The names of the couple getting married

  • The wedding date, time and time zone

  • The address of the wedding

  • A link to your wedding live stream

That’s the bare minimum needed to get people from point A to point B. You should also highly consider including:

  • An RSVP-by date, and how you would like guests to RSVP

  • A link to your wedding website (may be the same link as your live stream wedding)

  • Dress code expectations for in-person guests

  • Post-ceremony events (i.e. “Dinner and dancing to follow”)

Other information that is nice to have is:

  • An RSVP card, envelope and postage

  • Additional venue information (i.e. “Park in Lot B and await the shuttle”)

  • Hotel information

Personalizing Your Wedding Invitations

As we touched on, many people are not accustomed to the formal language still used on most wedding invitations. Our friends over at Minted have an amazing wedding invite wording guide that we highly suggest.

But what if you want to stray from the norm? What are some ways to add personality to your wedding invitations? Here are a few ideas:

  • Add engagement photos, or an engagement illustration. If you’re not artsy, no worries! Tons of independent artists can turn your engagement photos into cute, illustrations. Check Etsy or Instagram for artists who take commissions.

  • Include your social handles. Want guests to post about your wedding before it even happens? Add your Instagram handle or wedding hashtag to your invitation!

  • Get silly - if it’s in your nature to make people laugh and keep things light, don’t be afraid to translate that feeling to your wedding invitations! Add puns, trends or slang terms to your invite.

  • Go bold with color and design - no one said wedding invites have to be white with flowers! Try bolder designs, exciting colors and foil accents to spruce up your invites.

Choosing a Style and Material

You’ve chosen your wording, you’ve added a personal touch, now it’s time to decide what style and material you want to use. There are so many options, from eco-friendly virtual wedding invitations to laser-cut invites to traditional invites. And you can’t go wrong with any.

When creating invitations for your live stream wedding, though, we always recommend sending out virtual wedding invitations, even if it is in addition to physical invites.

That’s because, while LoveStream website links are easy to type, it’s always easier to just be able to click a link from your email.

When choosing LoveStream as your live stream wedding service, we can also create and send e-vites for you, so you don’t even have to worry about it.
