Choosing a Wedding Venue for Live Streaming

Your wedding venue is most likely going to be the first vendor you lock down. After all, the availability of your wedding venue determines your wedding date.

Most couples add on a live stream service closer to their wedding date, but we do have some couples who come to us before they even have a venue picked out. If that’s the case, you can start to think about how your wedding live stream will look as you tour venues.

Things to consider when choosing a venue if you plan on live streaming.

  1. Size: Make sure to consider your guest count in terms of how many people will be on-site versus how many will attend via virtually. You may be thinking, “There are 300 people who I would like to have at my wedding,” but maybe you are only planning on inviting 100 of them to celebrate with you in-person. Consider the max capacity of your venue and try to choose one that roughly lines up with your ideal in-person guest count.

  2. Wifi or cellular: The quality of your wedding live stream depends on the strength of your cellular or wifi connection. When doing your venue tours, keep an eye on the quality of your service in the ceremony space. If the venue has wifi, ask to connect to it so you can get a feel for the range, especially if your ceremony is taking place outside. If possible, run an internet speed test while you’re there.

  3. Camera placement: Consider where your live streaming devices will be placed at your wedding venue. Are there any concerns about how your cameras will be set up around your in-person seating? Thankfully, this is something that LoveStream can help you with. Our multi-camera live streaming packages include a full tech rehearsal where a LoveStream specialist helps you find the best angles for your unique wedding.

Restrictions for Wedding Live Streaming Based on Venue

Are there any types of venues that aren’t good for live streaming? Thankfully, the answer is, “not really.” At LoveStream, we have live streamed weddings remotely from beaches to backyards, and everything in between. (The only concern is if there is no wifi or cellular service at all. In that case, we offer a Later Stream that can be pre-recorded and simulated live for at-home guests.)

When you choose LoveStream as your wedding live stream service, you can rest easy knowing that we will guide you through all of the steps necessary to have a high-quality live stream from any venue.

First, we’ll collect some information to learn a little bit more about you, your wedding venue (if you have already chosen one!) and your vision for your wedding live stream. Then, before wedding day, we’ll help you choose the best camera angles for your venue and ensure audio and video sound and look great. And finally, we’ll be there remotely on wedding day to handle any final tweaks and check that the streaming connection is strong, before handling all the production for your stream.
