2021 Wedding Trends We’re Looking Forward To

As we move into 2021, we’re expecting a lot of new wedding trends. Weddings were completely shaken up this past year, and many couples are using that shake-up as a reason to go all-in on 2021 wedding trends.

Let’s look at some top 2021 wedding trends we can’t wait to see.

Virtual Weddings

Insider has called that live stream weddings aren’t going away anytime soon. There will always be guests who can’t travel, so incorporating a virtual element via LoveStream will make sure everyone gets to participate.

Small Weddings

Elopements, micro weddings, small weddings… all of them will be big in 2021. While 2020 forced us to limit our gathering sizes, many of us realized that intimate weddings are kind of awesome. Expect to see smaller guest lists in 2021.

Experience Weddings

Smaller guest lists don’t necessarily mean a smaller budget. Many couples will opt for weddings that are more of an experience in 2021. This can include theatrical elements, experimental mixology and weekend getaways.

Full-Service Dinners

Buffet dinners might be on the outs. Combining that with smaller guest lists, you will likely see more couples opting for plated dinners delivered to meticulously assigned seats in 2021.

Alternative Registries

Many couples live together before marriage, eliminating the need for a registry full of kitchen utensils and appliances. Instead, couples are opting for newlywed funds or donations to causes they care about.

Welcome Boxes

Fewer guests offers couples the ability to really spoil the guests who are attending the wedding. It won’t be uncommon for couples to gift each guest with a welcome box full of goodies or elaborate favors.

Weekday Weddings

With 2021 couples competing with postponed 2020 weddings for key dates, expect to see couples opting for weddings during the work week as opposed to the weekend.

Fast Turnarounds

2020 showed many couples that they just want to be married already! So expect weddings with faster turnaround times between engagement and the big “I do.” It’s possible 18-month engagements full of stressful planning might be on their way out the door.
