More Wording Options for your Virtual Invitation
More Ways to Word Your Virtual Wedding Invitations
In 2020, we offered you some fun ways to word your virtual wedding invitations. This year, we’re offering a whole new set of options. Last year was all about postponements, cancellations and last-minute changes of plan. This year, a lot of couples will be planning ahead for the unexpected, so virtual wedding invitations might look a little bit different.
There are two ways to look at this. One is to have separate invitations for guests you would like to attend in person, as well as guests who are only invited to join virtually. The second option is to have an option for any guests who can’t make it to join virtually.
Let’s look at some virtual wedding invitation wording options that cover the first scenario.
You’re invited to the virtual wedding of Name and Name.
Dress code: Couch Casual
2020 was hard, so we’re not going to make you come to our wedding. You’re welcome.
Join us virtually, instead.
No pants required.
Finally, a wedding where you can get sloppy drunk without upsetting the bride and groom! Join us from the comfort of your couch. BYOB.
If you are feeling snarky, you could let your virtual guests know that you love them, but that they didn’t make the final in-person guest list.
Congrats! You made the B-list. Celebrate with us virtually!
You’re not invited to the wedding of Name and Name. But we’d love to have you celebrate with us virtually!
Now, let’s take a look at some options for wording your wedding invitations where everyone is invited to join in person, but you’re also offering a virtual element for those who can’t make it.
If you’re still recovering from 2020, no worries! Please join our virtual celebration on [date] at [time].
Please RSVP with the appropriate response.
[ ] Will happily attend in person
[ ] Will happily watch from home
[ ] Will pretend to watch from home but will probably be doing dishes
[ ] If I watch from home, do I still need to get you a gift?
The show must go on. Whatever happens in 2021, we will be getting married [date] at [time]. We hope you can attend, but if things go wild again, feel free to join us online instead.
What Will Your 2021 Wedding Look Like?
Whether you are going fully virtual this year or are adding an optional virtual piece for guests who can’t make it, we highly recommend planning early so you can include the details to the virtual piece on your invitations!
