How to Show Support for Couples Marrying Virtually
Times are challenging right now — there is absolutely no doubt about this. And the wedding industry that we love so well is especially hurting with the restrictions the world pandemic has placed upon us.
Instead of traditional large celebrations where couples and guests get to live it up, couples are having to reschedule, re-plan, and even sometimes cancel. Thankfully, virtual weddings have become an option that allows couples to still wed via the internet so that all can see and celebrate. But we know it is not completely the same for these couples who have waited so long to tie the knot.
We need to show them a little extra love. And here are a few ways how:
Help them celebrate the original date
No couple will ever forget the date they were “supposed” to get married. It may not be happening on that same day anymore, but that original date still very much holds significance for the couple. First, find out the original wedding date if you don’t know already and think of creative ways to honor the couple during that time. Perhaps send them a small gift, like a bottle of their favorite champagne, or call them just to let them know you are thinking of them. The sky is really the limit here.
Offer planning assistance
Yes, chances are that couples have a professional wedding planner helping them out during this very crazy time to reschedule and tie up loose ends. But that doesn’t mean you can’t pitch in and offer your time as well. Perhaps they are sending out new save-the-dates and need some experts to stuff and glue envelopes down. You can be that person!
Go virtual, of course
We can’t imagine how couples must feel not being able to have a couples’ shower or a bachelorette party. It’s truthfully a rite of passage these days and we know they will feel like they are missing out.
So, wedding party, here is your chance to pitch in. Gather the whole team and go about planning a fun virtual party where everyone plays games, throws back a few cocktails, and genuinely makes the bride or groom feel more than loved. And of course, with our expertise in streaming, we are here to help!
If the wedding is still happening, help the couple plan to live stream it via LoveStream. Whether the wedding guest list has been slashed or guests with compromised immune systems don’t feel comfortable attending a large gathering, live streaming a wedding is an ideal way to ensure nobody is left out.
Send their wedding gift early
Let’s state the obvious. Most people are still stuck at home or very hesitant to leave the house. So, since couples are cooped up together, it may a nice idea to send them that stand-mixer you so graciously purchased them now instead of when their new date rolls around. They have lots of at-home time on their hands and this is when they could really make use of that new waffle maker!
