Live Streaming a Courthouse Wedding

There are so many benefits to getting married at a courthouse. But there is also one big downside: limited guests.

For some, whittling down the guest list to a chosen few is an ideal situation. For others, they still want to include loved ones near and far in their big day.

That’s where we come in. LoveStream allows everyone you love to be included in your wedding.

By live streaming your wedding with our experienced team, you can share your wedding with an unlimited number of guests.

What you need.

Internet connection.

Government buildings aren’t exactly known for having the highest wifi speeds. Similarly, many of these buildings are made of materials that don’t promote strong cellular connections. So, can you still live stream your wedding without a strong internet or cellular connection? Yes and no.

As long as the wifi or cellular connection speed is 5Mbps or faster (you can test over at speedtest.net), then you should be able to stream your wedding without issues. Try to get to the courthouse before the day of your wedding to run a speed test.

If for some reason you are not able to get a strong wifi or cellular connection, we have a few options. One popular option with our couples is to simulate the broadcast live at a later date and time.

This is actually somewhat ideal for courthouse weddings. Courthouses are open during the business week, most often from 9-5pm. That’s also when all of your loved ones are working. Recording your wedding and simulating it live the following weekend allows everyone to celebrate together. This isn’t our standard process, so we suggest booking a meeting with our team to discuss this option.

Streaming device(s).

This is the device you will use to live stream your wedding. A courthouse wedding typically will not have the same layout as a traditional wedding, meaning you might not have an aisle or rows of chairs. That’s okay! You can choose to keep things simple with our Standard Package that features a single camera angle, or use one of our multi-camera packages to capture both partners’ faces as they say their “I Dos.”

Tripod(s) and microphone.

While not necessary, a sturdy tripod and high-quality microphone can increase the quality of your live stream. LoveStream offers rentals of these products and only offers the best broadcast-quality microphones for our clients. This will feed sound directly into your wedding live stream so guests watching at home can hear all of the important details, even if the camera isn’t directly next to you.
