How to Handle Snow on Your Wedding Day Like a Champ

Spring weddings don’t always mean chirping birds and blooming flowers. Sometimes, an unexpected snow shower rolls through on your wedding day. While there’s a saying that rain on your wedding day is lucky, it feels like unwanted snow is just a plain bummer.

Thankfully, snow doesn’t have to ruin your big day. Below, we’re offering up some tips on how to handle snowfall like a champ on your wedding day.

Take Care of Guests

If guests are freezing, they might head out early, and that’s never fun when you’ve put so much time, effort and money into your event. If the event is outdoors, rent some patio heaters, light some fire pits and provide cozy blankets for guests to warm up with.

Consider Your Shoes

On your wedding day, you should be head over heels in love. Not head over heels on the ground because you slipped in the snow! Even if you wear nice shoes for pictures, be sure to have a sturdier pair for walking around.

Watch Your Hem

If you’re wearing a gorgeous white dress on your wedding day, be sure to keep an eye on the hem. While snow might look white and fluffy, it’s only a matter of time before it turns brown and muddy, staining the bottom of your dress.

Have a Back Up Plan

Here at LoveStream, you know we’re the biggest fans of back up plans. That includes both a virtual aspect of your ceremony as well as backup plans for your in-person event. For the in-person event, be sure you have a weather contingency plan with your venue in case you truly can’t be outside in the snow.

Unfortunately, sometimes snow might prevent out of town guests from making it to your wedding. Having your virtual wedding piece in place in advance gives all guests the option to watch even if they can’t physically be there.

At the end of the day, the most important thing is that you and your partner are happily married! Inclement weather on your wedding day might not be what you wanted, but you’ll still look back on that day as one of the best ever.
