5 Reasons Why Attending a Virtual Wedding Takes the Cake
Ah, to be a guest at a wedding. Or even better, to be a plus-one at a wedding. There are definite ups and downs to holding that position (ahem, shelling out the big bucks for a gift but also the open bar) but overall, it’s great to be able witness love, in-person.
These days, virtual weddings are mainstream, (shameless plug for our very own wedding streaming platform) and being a guest at one of these looks slightly different, but just as awesome. Read on for every reason why.
Cheers, Dears
OK, we all love a good cocktail over here at LoveStream, and we bet you do too. Being a virtual guest means you can drink ‘til your heart’s content without ever getting suspicious looks from any other guests. And best of all, gone are the days of patiently waiting in line for that signature cocktail. Grab your ingredients and make your drink coffee table-side and sip, sip, away with the newlyweds.
Dress to Impress?
We don’t know about you all but finding THE perfect dress to wear to a wedding is a crucial piece of the puzzle when attending nuptials. Will it be so hot that I sweat through this lace? Do I need to wear Spanx with this? Will my heels sink into the damp grass? Forget those questions… virtual weddings are all about the couple and less about the guests. Chances are you won’t ever be seen on-screen. So, rock that stained sorority tee from 1989 and do you.
Resting Happy Face
Hey, like we said before, you probably won’t ever be seen on-screen. So, no need to fake emotion (if that’s how you are). Some folks just aren’t super smiley and giddy and lovey-dovey and we are here to not only tell that that is just fine but that it won’t even be a blip on anyone’s radar. Sit tight, laugh or cry through the ceremony, or do none of the above.
Budget Savvy
It’s no big secret that weddings cost a pretty penny, whether for the couple, the bride’s father (thanks, Dad!) or as a guest. The absolute BEST part of being in attendance at a virtual wedding has to be the amount of money you will save. No need to book a flight cross-country, no need for a hotel, no need to pay for a manicure and pedicure the week before.
A virtual wedding is totally budget-friendly, and we are all about saving what is in our piggy bank, especially at this current moment in time.
Chit-Chat
It is just you, yourself, and I. You don’t have to fake small talk with that friend from high school who you haven’t spoken to in 15 years. We know how brutal that can be.
