Your Virtual Wedding To-do List
Weddings might look a little different these days, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty to do! Virtual weddings can look all sorts of ways. On one end of the spectrum, the wedding might take place fully online with a remote officiant (if allowed in your state), or you might want to live stream an otherwise traditional wedding to the handful of guests who couldn’t make it.
However, your virtual wedding will look, we can help make it happen. But first, check out these 6 to-dos before you say, “I do!”
Set the date
Obviously, you need to choose what date you’re gonna do the darn thing. Whether it’s tomorrow or next year, setting your date is the first step in having a successful live stream wedding. Once you have the date, you can let all of your friends and family know to look out for an invitation!
Get an officiant
While some states let you self-solemnize your marriage, you will most likely need an officiant who can make the wedding legal. Your officiant can also help make sure you have any other legal pieces else you might need, like a marriage license or witnesses.
Create a registry
Just because you aren’t having all of your guests show up in-person, doesn’t mean you can’t send out a registry! Whether you are asking for a toaster oven or a kind donation to your newlywed fund, guests will be more than happy to help you celebrate with a gift. With LoveStream, you can link your registry on your live stream page, so guests can easily find it.
Choose your ensembles
Some couples do a scaled-back version of traditional wedding attire for a virtual wedding, but we’re personally in favor of dressing to the nines. This is especially true if you will still have a photographer capturing the special moments. Choose your outfits and, if needed and safe to do so, hire a hair and makeup appointment for a little extra pampering.
Gather the décor
How do you decorate for your virtual wedding? If you are still having a larger event at a venue, your décor will likely be what you would normally expect at a wedding: flowers, tablecloths, and centerpieces. If your event is fully online, you can opt for a floral wall or another backdrop.
Decide on the food
No event is complete without food. Even if it’s just you and your boo, consider ordering in a nice dinner from a fancy restaurant.
