What COVID Etiquette Do Guests Need to Know?

While COVID vaccines are being administered, it unfortunately won’t be an immediate shift back to normal. Your guests are still going to have concerns about attending a large gathering and will want to know what type of health and safety precautions you and your venue are taking.

Below are just a few COVID-related questions that your guests should know the answers to before they RSVP to your wedding so that there are no surprises.

Masks

Will guests be required to wear face masks? What about event staff? What will happen to anyone who refuses to wear a mask? Will these policies actually be enforced and, if so, by whom?

Social Distancing

Will guests be spaced out during the ceremony and/or reception? If so, how will seating be arranged? Will they be sat next to anyone outside of their household?

Indoor/Outdoor

Will the event be outdoors? If it will be indoors, will the doors remain open or closed? How big is the indoor space?

Pre-Event Testing

Will you ask guests to get tested before the wedding? If so, how far in advance?

Pre-Event Isolation

Will you ask guests to isolate with only their households before the wedding in order to attend your wedding?

Temperature and Symptom Checks

Will you have someone checking temperatures at your event? Will you ask guests to not attend if they have had any COVID symptoms recently?

Guest Count

How many guests will be in attendance? Does the event comply with regional gathering limitations?

Dancing

Will there be dancing? If there is, will social distancing and masks be enforced on the dance floor?

Other Options

If guests are not comfortable attending your wedding or if they are showing COVID symptoms in the days leading up to your wedding, will they have another way to participate in your big day?
