Three Reasons Your Wedding Budget Matters, and One Reason It Doesn’t
Before you do anything after getting engaged, you should establish your wedding budget. Your budget is one of the biggest determining factors for your wedding day for a number of reasons, but it isn’t everything. We’ve compiled three reasons why your wedding budget matters, and one why it doesn’t below.
Why Your Wedding Budget Matters:
1. You don’t want to regret your choices. In days, months and years following your wedding, you won’t wish you had gone with the gold foil invitations instead of the basic letterpress. You won’t be upset that you chose not to do the personalized koozies in lieu of their cheaper cousin, personalized napkins. What you will regret? If you chose to do things to appease or impress someone that isn’t you, your partner, or who is paying for your wedding.
2. You don’t want to go into marriage in debt. Beginning marriage in financial trouble is not the way you want to start. Be cognizant of that when you’re planning and go with what you can comfortably spend on your wedding. Your wedding budget should not be pieced and pulled together to create a number you cannot afford.
3. You want to have a day that fits you and your partner best. You and your partner have your own style and feel. Designing pieces of your wedding will cost money, as will making that guest list. Figure out what you and your partner want, and then make the budget fit the most important pieces.
Why Your Wedding Budget Doesn’t Matter
1. Money doesn’t define your love story. *cue Taylor Swift’s Love Story* We can’t remind you enough to leave the dollar signs at the door and plan a day that is best for you and your person. It’s truly that simple and doesn’t have anything to do with how much money you spent (or didn’t spend). We can always do more, but that won’t always matter. What will matter is a day that celebrates and reflects true love. Don’t let yourself think differently.
