Planning a Virtual Wedding from Start to Finish

How do you plan a virtual wedding? We’re here to help!

Virtual weddings have become the norm over the last few months, but many people are still not quite sure how to go from idea to execution. Thankfully, with LoveStream, we guide you through the entire process. One of our co-founders is a wedding planner, so we truly want to make this process as easy as possible for our couples.

Take a look below to learn exactly how to plan your virtual wedding with LoveStream!

Purchase your Virtual Wedding Package

We offer a number of packages for virtual weddings that fit multiple budgets and needs. We can also create a custom package for you if you aren’t seeing exactly what you’re looking for!

You can either purchase directly on our site, or you can book a free consultation with our team to chat more about LoveStream and make sure we’re the right virtual wedding platform for you.

Have your Onboarding Call

During your onboarding call, you will chat with one of our LoveStream specialists. They will walk you through all of the details you need to know for the big day and get a general feel for your wedding day timeline.

Invite Your Virtual Guests

By this point, you should have the URL that your guests will go to on the day of the wedding to watch your live stream. There are a few ways you can share that URL and invite your virtual guests. Here are some of our favorites:

1) Email them an invitation.

This is the simplest way to invite guests to a virtual wedding. Since most guests will be watching the wedding on their computer, sending the link via email will make things easy for them.

2) Invite them to a private Facebook group.

If you want to have some pre-wedding chit chat, you can invite all of your virtual guests to a private Facebook group where they can start mingling, ask questions and confirm any details they are unsure of. If you do this, we would suggest also emailing them the URL, so they have it easily available to them.

3) Send them a physical invitation with a QR Code.

If you still want to send out invitations, we can provide you with a QR code that you can include on your invitation and your guests can scan. Just be aware that some less tech-savvy guests might find this confusing, so be sure to still write out your URL for them to manually type into their browser.

4) Mail them a care package.

Wanna get really fancy? Mail each virtual guest a care package with a mini bottle of champagne or some non-perishable snacks for them to enjoy during the wedding. You can also include a recipe card so they can recreate whatever in-person guests are eating or drinking.

Choose your Day-Of Contact

This is who will be in contact with LoveStream on the day of the wedding. It shouldn’t be you or anyone in your wedding party. They’ll be busy with an in-person wedding. Your day-of contact should be comfortable with devices and be able to be at the event a couple of hours before the event starts.

A good option is a “spouse of” – the spouse (or girlfriend, boyfriend, etc.) of a member of the wedding party. This person is likely going to be hanging around all day anyway, might as well put them to work! Other options are tech-savvy family members (older teen cousins, nieces/nephews), the venue coordinator or your wedding planner.

The day-of contact doesn’t have to be Steve Jobs, but they should be comfortable navigating internet browsers on smartphones and toggling the rotate and lock functions on devices.

Have your Tech Rehearsal

Your day-of contact should be at your tech rehearsal since they will be the one setting up on the big day! During this tech rehearsal, you can finalize your wedding day timeline.

Wedding Day!

It’s the day we’ve all been waiting for. By this point, you will have finalized your timeline, ran your tech rehearsal, and have the phone number and name of your LoveStream Producer (for Plus and Premium Packages – Basic Packages will receive an emergency contact) who will run the show from our Charlotte office.

As the wedding couple, your role will be pretty hands-off. The day-of contact that you assigned will be in communication with our team to get everything up and running. All you have to do is get married!
