Including Your Overseas Family in Your Wedding

We all have at least one family member living across the world. Maybe they’re in the military, moved for a job, met a spouse from another country, or just have that feeling of wanderlust inside of them. Whatever the reason might be – the chances they’ll make it back for your big day certainly aren’t 100%. Regardless of the cost of airline tickets, taking time off work and other practical reasons, people get sick, flights get cancelled and being an ocean away makes it difficult to have a good backup plan. It’s hard realizing that someone you care so much about might not be able to make it to your wedding, and even harder trying to figure out how to still include them without their physical presence. We’ve come up with a couple of ideas that, in addition to live streaming your wedding, can make a big difference.

The biggest part of connecting your family from overseas is helping them find a way to watch or participate in your ceremony. Don’t worry about time difference, most people will forget about that for a day as big as your wedding. However, if someone can’t make it to your online celebrations, LoveStream works like DVR! Guests can go back and watch at any time that’s convenient for them.

Including your family member in your wedding is a special task. Consider the relationship you have with them and how involved you want them to be in the day.  Maybe they film a speech ahead of time that you play at your reception? Or send a letter to be read during your ceremony? There are a lot of ways that you can honor them. Getting creative is important, but don’t worry too much. They will appreciate the gesture and you’ll be excited for however they can be a part of the day.

For us at LoveStream, we created our streaming platform to connect all people to a couple’s big day. What started at the onset of COVID-19 has blossomed into a resource for those who want to give everyone a chance to be a part of their wedding, regardless of whether they RSVP “Yes” or not. Our goal is to make sure that the people you love can be included in your wedding day, somehow or some way. Be sure to purchase your wedding live streaming package today.
