What Events to Include in your Wedding Live Stream
Having a virtual wedding might look a little different than a traditional in-person wedding. At LoveStream, our wedding live streams are super customizable, but typically last about an hour depending on which package you choose -- and of course, you can always upgrade with extra time! That said, typical wedding can be more than four hours, so which important moments should you include for your virtual guests?
Thankfully, there’s a catch-all answer: anything that doesn’t require audience participation. What does that mean, exactly? Well, your online guests might not want to watch your in-person guests eat a delicious catered meal. But they would probably love to watch your sister make a toast to the happy couple. Make sense?
Of course, this general rule isn’t written in stone. For example, we had one couple encourage virtual guests to dance along in their living rooms, and it was so fun for everyone involved! Take the below suggestions with a grain of salt and be sure to do what feels like you on your wedding day. Just let our team know your plans, and we’ll do our best to make it happen.
Important Events at a Virtual Wedding
The Ceremony
Obviously, this is the biggie. The ceremony puts the ‘wedding’ in ‘virtual wedding.’ So be sure this is the main event for your online guests.
Depending on which package you choose (Basic, Plus, Premium, or something custom), you might end up having a handful of camera angles to work with. So, what should be included? You definitely want at least one camera offering a close-up on the happy couple. Not only will this help your online guests have a great view, it will also help with sound quality. With our proprietary program, we can capture sound with one camera while capturing video with another, giving us plenty of options for producing your big day.
We also love when couples use one camera to capture the processional. This gives online guests the full picture, and they will love to see the happy faces of the bride or groom walking down the aisle – especially if there is a gorgeous dress involved.
The Toasts
Toasts at a wedding are the perfect way for those nearest and dearest to honor you and your new spouse. Whether the toast-makers are there in-person, will be joining live virtually, or have pre-recorded their toast, our wedding live streaming team can make it work.
The First Dance
Typically, first dances happen after cocktail hour, but your virtual guests likely won’t be hanging around that long. Instead, consider having a first dance right after your ceremony. Whether you dance right there at the altar or have a short intermission in your live stream while you and your new boo head to the dance floor, including this special moment is always fun your guests to watch.
The Sign Off
You’ve heard of send offs, but what about a sign off? At the end of the wedding live stream, most of our couples will go up to the camera and address their virtual guests directly. This is super important, as it makes the guests feel incredibly valued and like you are really excited they are there – because you are!
Before your stream ends, let your virtual guests know that you appreciate them stopping by, and remind them to sign your virtual guest book before they leave!
What will you include in your wedding live stream?
All of the above can happen before the stream ends with a little bit of planning. But those certainly aren’t the only options! You can include cake cutting, a money dance or a hora, a unity ceremony, bouquet or garter toss, and just about anything else that’s important to you.
