Destination Wedding Locations: Europe
Paris, France
Of course we had to add Paris – how could we not? The unofficial/official international capital of love, Paris is home to gorgeous architecture, fashionable people, and amazing food. From the palace of Versailles to the Champs Elysees, you’ll find plenty of places to enjoy with your sweetheart. Get creative finding venues here – a small bistro, one of Paris’ many famous gardens, museums, or hotels…the possibilities are endless! Wishing you all the l’amour as you exchange vows in the city of romance.
Amalfi Coast, Italy
The blue water, stacked hillside homes and rocky beaches are just a glimpse into the beauty and charm of the Amalfi coast. Host a small rehearsal dinner or reception at a seaside restaurant where your guests can feast on frutti di mare and caprese, fresh from land and sea. Feeling adventurous? Take the ferry to Capri and ride the gondola up the mountain and hike around to see the breathtaking view from the top. Now that would be an amazing place to exchange vows!
Santorini, Greece
We know, we know. You’ve been constantly seeing pictures of Santorini’s blue and white buildings covered in pink flower vines, stacked against their bright blue ocean for years, but it’s that popular for a reason. The food, the fare, and the people make Greece, and specifically Santorini, an elite destination wedding location. On our bucket list – exchanging vows on one of those gorgeous building’s rooftops with a Mediterranean feast waiting for us after (we wouldn’t mind some Ouzo either).
Innsbruck, Austria
Hello Austria! If you’re looking for less beach and more mountains, Innsbruck is perfect. Located in a valley next to the Alps, it’s the perfect city year-round. In the winter, snow blankets the area, making it a perfect ski destination. In the spring, wildflowers sprout along mountain trails perfect for hiking. The city of Innsbruck is just as beautiful as the mountains around it. Beautiful architecture and colorful buildings reminiscent of Rainbow Row in Charleston, SC give it a fun, but familiar vibe.
Prague, Czech Republic
While Prague isn’t the official city of romance, it truly does rival Paris for the title. Full of cobblestone streets and old-world architecture stone buildings, it feels like a trip back in time. For a fun way to say “I do!”, take a river cruise on the Vltava River and get married on the top deck, with the curves of the waterway and the buildings of the city shining in the background. You won’t find a more beautiful view in the world!
