Destination Wedding Locations: Asia and Africa

Bali, Indonesia

Bali has become a fan-favorite for travelers over the past few years. With dense forests covering their mountains and white sand sprinkled along their beaches, the island is an outdoor paradise. Not only that, but because of its beauty and popularity, the island has grown, adding gorgeous resorts and fun attractions. Don’t be mistaken though, it’s peaceful and full of sacred landmarks and areas. Whether you and your partner are the lives of the party or chill as a cucumber, marry in Bali! You won’t regret it.

Maldives

If you’re like us and you’ve pinned photos of beachy huts built over the ocean, then you know the Maldives. In the Indian ocean off the coast of India and Sri Lanka, the 1,192 islands that comprise the Maldives are a beachy paradise. The water is crystal clear, yet the most beautiful shade of blue, and shorelines that stretch for miles. It’s become a popular honeymoon spot over the past few years (ahem, Pinterest), but a destination wedding in these secluded and serene islands would be just as amazing.

Phuket, Thailand

The largest island in Thailand, Phuket is a traveler’s dream. Enjoy delicious Thai food, fun nightlife, gorgeous beaches and more on this spectacular island. Head to Patong Beach for lots of fun, or Freedom Beach for a more chill experience. Either way, you’ll find beauty and adventure around every corner, so it’s the perfect place for a wanderlust couple to say “I do!”

Zanzibar

With two islands situated off the coast of Tanzania, Africa, Zanzibar is not your average vacation destination. What it lacks in notoriety, it makes up for in beauty. The main island, Unguja, is home to an area called Stone Town, which is the old town/historical area of the island. With Indian and African influences, the culture and food are incredible. It’s off the beaten path, but for a couple who travels regularly and is looking for a cool new place to enjoy, the beautiful beaches of Zanzibar would be a perfect location for a destination wedding.

Seychelles

Off the coast of Madagascar, Seychelles is one of the smallest countries in the world, yet home to 115 islands. The two most popular? Mahé and Praslin. Mahé is the most popular and developed, while Praslin is known to have some of the most beautiful beaches. Looking for a gorgeous destination wedding location that isn’t run of the mill? Seychelles will certainly give you that.
